Domain Registration
Ever heard the saying ´Its all in a name´, well your domain name is no different! Your www name will become a part of your business brand - so make it a good one!
There are many DO´s and DONT´s when it comes to choosing a domain name. For instance - ´bloogoowebandgraphicdesign.com.au´ - althought quite descriptive, is a little long and will be a challenge for customers to remember. On the other hand ´bloogoo.com.au´ is short, simple, it rhymes and is easy to remember.
Also try and avoid double lettering. By this we mean if you have a business selling cow whistles, cowwhistles.com.au might be confusing as a potential customer may not know whether they use cowhistles.com.au, or use cowwhistles.com.au Its not always a bad thing, just something to consider and you may be able to register both.
Basically, keep it short, keep it simple, keep it memorable. If you need advice, we are happy to help.
What is the process?
You register most domains for a 2 year period, at which point you can choose to renew or not. This will cost between $65 and $100 for two years. If you would like, we can handle it all for you. Contact the office to find out more.
But I don´t want a website at this point?
Thats fine, but jump in and register your domain so its yours! Once someone else claims that fantastic domain name, its gone, and probably for good. You can register a domain, start recieving emails to that address and get a website later...or not, it´s your choice.
How do I know what domain names are available?
We have made that easy for you on our home page. You can check and see if the domain you are after has already been registered or not. Once you have found one you like, or if you need some help in deciding, contact the office and we´ll do the rest for you.
